What are we slowly giving away?

Technology is quietly eroding some of our most human capacities. Not by force — by convenience. Through four days in nature, we recover what we've been handing over without noticing.

Attention

Constant notifications fragment our ability to focus deeply or be fully present in any single moment.

Boredom

That idle space where creativity and insight once lived is now always filled by a screen — before it can do its work.

Solitude

We're never truly unreachable, yet somehow lonelier than ever. The unobserved self slowly disappears.

Real contact

Digital communication lets us edit, delay, and control what we show. That control comes at a real cost.

Inner life

More of our experience gets posted before it's fully felt. The unshared self quietly shrinks.

Embodied skill

Navigation, craft, and practical knowing fade when apps absorb every competency we once held ourselves.

The place

Ecovillage Mokri Potok,
Kočevje Forest

Nestled in one of the largest primeval forests in Europe, Mokri Potok is a living ecovillage in the heart of Kočevsko — surrounded by ancient woodland, clean rivers, and wild quiet. We will be camping and living within the ecovillage, with birdsong and forest as our constant companions.

This is not a hotel retreat. It is an invitation to inhabit a place rather than visit it.

A container for real presence

These agreements are not restrictions — they are the conditions that make everything else possible.

No screens

Phones are handed in during an opening ceremony on the first evening. The team holds a contact number for emergencies. Your phone will be waiting for you on the final morning.

Sober space

No alcohol or drugs throughout the retreat. We keep the space clear and present — for yourself and for everyone around you.

No ideology

This is not a religious or ideological event. All backgrounds, beliefs, and worldviews are welcome. The only framework is curiosity.

Wilderness reality

We are in the forest. There are ticks, weather changes, and wild animals. Please come prepared for camping in all conditions.

Simple living

Tents and campervans. Three shared vegetarian meals a day. The simplicity is part of the experience.

Small group

Maximum 18 participants, by design. Intimacy is not incidental — it is the whole point.

The programme

Four days,
one threshold

Each day holds a question. Nothing is required of you except to show up — to what's here, who's here, and what you discover when the noise stops.

Wednesday 12 Aug (afternoon) → Sunday 16 Aug (after lunch)
