4-day digital detox retreat · 12–16 August 2026
Mokri Potok, Slovenia
Technology is quietly eroding some of our most human capacities. Not by force — by convenience. Through four days in nature, we recover what we've been handing over without noticing.
Constant notifications fragment our ability to focus deeply or be fully present in any single moment.
That idle space where creativity and insight once lived is now always filled by a screen — before it can do its work.
We're never truly unreachable, yet somehow lonelier than ever. The unobserved self slowly disappears.
Digital communication lets us edit, delay, and control what we show. That control comes at a real cost.
More of our experience gets posted before it's fully felt. The unshared self quietly shrinks.
Navigation, craft, and practical knowing fade when apps absorb every competency we once held ourselves.
Nestled in one of the largest primeval forests in Europe, Mokri Potok is a living ecovillage in the heart of Kočevsko — surrounded by ancient woodland, clean rivers, and wild quiet. We will be camping and living within the ecovillage, with birdsong and forest as our constant companions.
This is not a hotel retreat. It is an invitation to inhabit a place rather than visit it.
These agreements are not restrictions — they are the conditions that make everything else possible.
Phones are handed in during an opening ceremony on the first evening. The team holds a contact number for emergencies. Your phone will be waiting for you on the final morning.
No alcohol or drugs throughout the retreat. We keep the space clear and present — for yourself and for everyone around you.
This is not a religious or ideological event. All backgrounds, beliefs, and worldviews are welcome. The only framework is curiosity.
We are in the forest. There are ticks, weather changes, and wild animals. Please come prepared for camping in all conditions.
Tents and campervans. Three shared vegetarian meals a day. The simplicity is part of the experience.
Maximum 18 participants, by design. Intimacy is not incidental — it is the whole point.
Each day holds a question. Nothing is required of you except to show up — to what's here, who's here, and what you discover when the noise stops.
Wednesday 12 Aug (afternoon) → Sunday 16 Aug (after lunch)
A gentle landing. A symbolic crossing from one way of being into another. Meeting, settling, and setting an intention for the days ahead.
Solo time in nature, somatic awareness and stillness. We slow down enough to feel what's actually here — in the body, beneath the noise.
Through movement, touch and presence we explore what gets lost through a screen. Real contact, full attention, the discomfort and depth of being truly seen.
What happens when we stop performing and simply exist with others? We explore the invisible threads between us — how we influence each other, how we are shaped by the group, and what emerges when no one is in charge.
The final day is a celebration of everything recovered. We meet the field of possibilities that opens up in the absence of devices.
"The answers aren't found in an algorithm — they are answered organically, through lived experience."
You reach for your phone without thinking — and you're tired of it.
You feel scattered, overstimulated, or vaguely numb — and can't quite pinpoint why.
You're longing for depth — in your relationships, in your work, in yourself.
You want to spend time in nature — not sightseeing, but truly inhabiting it.
You're curious about your own inner life, and ready to sit with what you find.
You want to be with people in a way that feels real — unfiltered, unperformed.
All prices include accommodation (camping) and three vegetarian meals per day for the full duration.
Families are welcome. There is no dedicated children's programme — parents self-organise with their children during workshops.
To secure your place, a €100 deposit is required within 3 days of registration. You will receive payment details by email upon registering.
Please note: the €100 deposit is non-refundable if you cancel within 30 days of the retreat start date (i.e. after 13 July 2026).
This retreat is brought to you by Društvo Mokri Potok and Društvo Koru — united by a belief in the power of community, embodied practice and connection with nature.
Lana is an educator, facilitator, somatic coach and the co-founder of KORU, Association for Embodied Growth. Passionate about contact improvisation, authentic connections, and continuous self-growth, she weaves somatic practices, movement, and the natural world into her facilitation to help individuals find their way back to their physical senses.
Marko is a co-founder of Mokri Potok ecovillage, hypnotherapist and facilitator. His work is rooted in creating environments where people can unplug from the noise of modern life and reconnect with a more intuitive part of themselves. Combining community-building practices, mindful presence, guided meditations, and deep listening, he supports participants in rediscovering clarity, inner calm, and authentic connection with themselves, others, and the natural world.
Martyna keeps all the practical threads in order — from registration to on-site coordination — so that participants can arrive and fully let go.
Domen takes care of the technical and on-the-ground details that make the space work — quietly, reliably, in the background.
